As part of Theoris’ annual celebration to show appreciation to our valued customers we decided to make the celebration even more meaningful by giving back to the community.
We partnered with Damar Foundation charity and their efforts to raise money for a capital campaign to create a fully integrated living communities for special needs teens & adults. These communities, called the Damar Village, will be a state-of-the-art living center with ten one-story buildings with 2,600 or 3,200 square foot duplex style apartments. Damar has designed the Village to be flexible and responsive to changing needs.
The Damar Village will be comprised of:
- Adult Living Center will be a public, low-income, high-quality housing project rented at/or below market rate. Its integrated setting will emphasize family and community engagement. The one-story buildings will consist of 10 duplex apartments, with two apartments in each duplex. Each apartment will have either three or four beds for a total of 64 bedrooms.
- Transitional Youth Housing is a model Damar has established throughout the Indianapolis community and will comprise the second half of the Damar Village. These units will be group homes licensed through the Department of Child Services (DCS). Each building will have the same configuration as the Adult Living Center with 10 duplex apartments and 66 beds.
